I woke up on Friday 30/03/17 and just had one rehearsal to attend, a quiet day for this Byron Bay Celebrant. I actually thought I was going to get a surf in. Cyclone Debbie had made it's way down the Coast and had just passed over the Northern Rivers that evening, dumping hundreds of mls of rain that night. So much rain fell that many towns began to flood and access was even closed on the M1 in both directions. All of a sudden Marriage Celebrants, Photographers, Wedding Guests and everyday people couldn't get to "the chapel" on time!! My phone rang hot and all of a sudden I was on my way to facilitate Tim & Teegan's wedding, as their celebrant Modern Love Ceremonies was stuck in Mullumbimby. It was a bit manic when I arrived as they had moved from their original Plan A location!! They opted for an intimate ceremony at The Grove with 15 VIP's and then were going to head to the Byron SLSC with the rest of their crew. So here I was with a random group of people, who I'd never met and the adrenlaine was racing, as the end of the storm blew gale force winds.

It was actually such an honour to be the Surrogate Celebrant and we found a beautiful location out of the wind, in the macadamia grove. I made married people and the small crowd was elated that Tim & Tegan got their wish of having their ceremony in the Byron Hinterland. After the ceremony they had a photo session and then headed to the SLSC to party the night away. Meanwhile my phone was still running hot and I facilitated anther 2 ceremonies that afternoon but that's anther story...... ;)
