Barwon Heads Awesomeness
I had the pleasure of being flown down to Victoria to perform the Wedding Ceremony duties for the awesome Ross and Emily Byrne, location Barwon Heads. Ross and Emily dug the fact that I could play and sing a song for them, as Emily walked down the aisle with her family. They also connected with the syle and vibe that I could bring to their wedding ceremony. Unique, fresh and unboring!!
Flying into Victoria the weather was brisk and raining COLDNESS. During our rehearsal the day prior to the ceremony, I was unsure the outdoor wedding would take place but true to the power of love, the sun came out in full radiance and shone hard. The setting amongst the native garden of Emilys' parents place was beyond epic. Two towering teepees, snuggled in amongst the garden style wedding which was adorned with huge proteas and other native flower arrangements.
I played 'Fool For You' by John Butler, as Emily floated down the aisle with her loving family and we all gushed as Ross and Emily joined hands to gaze in each others eyes!!
The ceremony included Emilys' close friends reading some personal attributes that Ross and Emily shared.
The two families joined us on stage and 'Joined' Emily and Ross by adding flowers to Emilys' bouquet from their home gardens. The 'Joining' of the families broke tradition with the 'Giving Away'!
Ross and Emily had written some beauitful and unique Vows which we were lucky enough to hear, the tears flowed and Ross had a few moments of love fluster, before aksing Emily to be his Wife. The KISS was real and passionate and we were now floating on the breeze. We finished off the ceremony with a 'Wine Box Ritual' and Ross and Emily sauntered onto the dance floor to dance their 'First Dance' straight off the bat!
Break the traditional mould and dance to your own rhythum, speak your own language in your ceremony and then, only then, will your guests truly understand your story of love!
Awesome pictures taken by the incredible Nathan Dyer. Photographic genius!
